Charles E. Boone

Charles E. Boone is currently a member of the faculty in the Division of Arts, Communication, and Hospitality at the College of DuPage, where he has served for 33 years. He most recently served as the founding Dean of Arts, Communication, and Hospitality, having begun as an adjunct faculty member, then as a professor in the Art program. He served as Interim and Associate Dean of Fine and Applied Arts for two years and Interim Dean of Liberal Arts for a year. He has also served as the College of DuPage Faculty Association President-elect/President.

Professor Boone currently serves on the College Art Association Professional Practices Committee. He previously served as Co-Chair of the Illinois Higher Education Art Association and Co-Chair of the Illinois Articulation Initiative’s Art Panel for 20 years. Through these affiliations he participated in the authoring of statewide standards for the Associate of Fine Arts degree and subsequently led the development of that degree at College of DuPage.

Professor Boone works as a printmaker, painter, and digital artist and has exhibited regionally and nationally. He serves NASAD as a visiting evaluator.

Professor Boone earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Art and Design, a Master of Arts in Art Education, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also completed extensive graduate coursework at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
