Peg Faimon

Peg Faimon is Dean of the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design at Indiana University, a position she has held since the combined school’s founding in 2016. Previously, she was Chair of the Department of Art at Miami University, Co-Director of the Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies, Lead Faculty of the Graphic Design program, and Founding Director of the Miami Design Collaborative. Her teaching responsibilities have included a wide variety of undergraduate seminars and studios in design, and interdisciplinary and international coursework. Dean Faimon was named the Miami University College of Creative Arts Crossan Hayes Curry Distinguished Educator in 2000, and the Naus Family Faculty Scholar in 2008.

In addition to teaching, Dean Faimon maintains a design consultancy and worked as a designer for corporate and small firm offices before going into academia. She has received national and international recognition for her design work. She has authored or co-authored three books on design, The Nature of Design with John Weigand, Design Alliance, and The Designer’s Guide to Business and Careers.

Dean Faimon serves NASAD as a visiting evaluator. She previously held the office of Treasurer from 2015–2021.

Dean Faimon received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Yale University, where she earned the Norman Ives Memorial Award, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University.
