Peg Faimon

Peg Faimon is currently Founding Dean of the School of Art and Design at Indiana University. Previously, she was Chair of the Department of Art at Miami University, Co-Director of the Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies, Lead Faculty of the Graphic Design program, and Founding Director of the Miami Design Collaborative. Her teaching responsibilities have included a wide variety of undergraduate seminars and studios in design, and interdisciplinary and international coursework. Professor Faimon was named the Miami University College of Creative Arts Crossan Hayes Curry Distinguished Educator in 2000, and the Naus Family Faculty Scholar in 2008.

In addition to teaching, Professor Faimon maintains a design consultancy, and worked as a designer for corporate and small firm offices before going into academia. She has received national and international recognition for her design work. She has authored or co-authored three books on design (The Nature of Design with John Weigand, Design Alliance, and The Designer’s Guide to Business and Careers), and is currently starting a fourth book project.

Professor Faimon received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University and a Master of Fine Arts from Yale University, where she was presented the Norman Ives Memorial Award.
