Jonathan Fahnestock

Jonathan Fahnestock serves as Associate Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences at Maryville University of Saint Louis, a position he has held since 2013. He oversees all art and design programming, and additionally serves as the program director of the Graphic, Interactive, and Digital Media Bachelor of Fine Arts programs.

Associate Dean Fahnestock holds the rank of Associate Professor and continues to teach courses. His teaching practice focuses on graphic and interactive design’s aesthetic, technical, and theoretical aspects within various mediums and specialties. These include graphical user interface design, usability, web design, interactive application development and scripting, motion, and instructional media. Before joining Maryville University’s faculty in 2005, he acquired extensive professional experience as a graphic designer, art director, and multimedia specialist in the advertising, marketing, and e-Learning industries. In addition to teaching, he periodically continues to work professionally on various design and interactive applications.

Associate Dean Fahnestock earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Computer Graphics Design from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from Westminster College.
