Deanne Pytlinski

Deanne Pytlinski is Associate Professor of Art History, Theory and Criticism and Chair of the Department of Art at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Professor Pytlinski’s essay, San Francisco Video Collectives and the Counterculture has appeared in the anthology, West of Center: Art and the Counterculture Experiment in America, 1965-1977, published by University of Minnesota Press. She recently curated an exhibition for the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art entitled “Craft Tech/Coded Media: Women, Art & Technology.”

Professor Pytlinski serves NASAD as a visiting evaluator.

Professor Pytlinski holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Graduate Center of City University of New York, where her dissertation was entitled Utopian Visions: Women and Early Video Art. She holds a Master of Science degree in Theory, Criticism and History of Art, Design, and Architecture from Pratt Institute, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art with a concentration in Art History from Colorado State University.
