Curtis Steele is a Professor of Art and Chair of the Department of Art at Arkansas State University. He teaches courses in graphic design, illustration, and photography. In 2006, he received an ASU Middle East Studies Grant to photograph the motorcycle culture in Egypt and Israel. In addition to his academic career, Professor Steele exhibits photographs and digital drawings in national venues. Prior to joining the Department of Art faculty at Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, in 1978, he worked as the graphic designer and photographer for the community outreach program at Butte College in Oroville, California
Professor Steele holds a Master of Fine Arts in Art from the University of Memphis and Master of Arts in Art from California State University, Chico, both with a concentration in photographic printmaking techniques. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the California College of the Arts in Oakland.
