Carlyle D. Johnson is Chair of the Department of Art at Tennessee State University. His previous positions include five years as Coordinator of the printmaking area at Ohio State University and 13 years as Chair of the Department of Art at Middle Tennessee State University.
Professor Johnson has participated in more than 60 art exhibitions, coordinated numerous grants with regard to African American issues, and has served on commissioned committees in Ohio, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
Professor Johnson holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting/Drawing from Ohio State University.
