In Memoriam: Sally C. Lawrence

1930-2017
Sally Lawrence,
beloved fellow and past president of NASAD has passed away.

Sally had a long history of dedicated service to NASAD in several capacities. In addition to the presidency of NASAD (1996-1999) which she served with distinguished honor and dedication, Sally served for three years as Immediate Past President and two years as Treasurer. Additionally, she served as a Member of the Board of Directors from 1985-1991. She was awarded a Fellowship with NASAD in 1999.

In addition to her elected service to the Association, Sally was an active visiting evaluator, taking part in numerous evaluative and consultative visits.

Sally was President of the Pacific Northwest College of Art from 1981-2003, where the impact of her work is far reaching and extends to students, faculty and staff, arts institutions, higher education, and the disciplines of art and design.

In the many volunteer roles she served, Sally offered thoughtful and kind assistance, and for that our gratitude is never-ending.

The memory of Sally’s gentle smile and warm heart will remain with us. We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to have known and worked with Sally. The National Office staff joins with the Association in expressing deepest sympathy to Sally’s  friends and colleagues, and to her family.
