NASAD STANDARDS / HANDBOOK
This section brings together the various components of important information regarding NASAD standards and guidelines, including access to the text of the latest edition of the NASAD Handbook and, when applicable, any addenda to the Handbook; any proposed revisions to NASAD standards currently open for comment; and a more convenient place to access the Basic Competency Index for undergraduate degree programs in the visual arts and design housed on the Achievement and Quality Web site.

HANDBOOK AND ANY CURRENT ADDENDA

Includes current NASAD standards and guidelines for accredited institutional membership
for degree- and non-degree-granting institutions in art and design, as well as the Association's
Constitution, Bylaws, Code of Ethics, and Rules of Practice and Procedure. It incorporates
all recent revisions ratified by the NASAD Membership, Board of Directors, and/or Commission on Accreditation through October 2015.
NOTICE: All institutions and evaluators must follow standards and guidelines reflected in the latest edition of the NASAD Handbook and any addenda current at the time of application.
PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE NASAD HANDBOOK (when applicable)
Whenever revisions to NASAD standards and guidelines are open for comment, current drafts and instructions for comment will be found under Standards Review in this section of the Web site.

Basic Competency Index By Discipline and Specialization --
Undergraduate Degrees in Art and Design
Provides a link to a resource from the Achievement and Quality: Higher Education in the Arts web site, which lists specializations for baccalaureate degrees in the visual arts and design, each linked to a parallel downloadable PDF enumerating detailed competencies for that specialization. Please note: The lists of competencies are derived from NASAD accreditation standards for professional and liberal arts undergraduate degrees in art and design.
