Sally McRorie

Sally McRorie is Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Florida State University (FSU). She previously served as the inaugural Vice President for Faculty Development and Advancement, and ten years as the founding Dean of the College of Fine Arts, which includes the School of Dance, School of Theatre, and School of Art and Design; the Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts and the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography, on the Tallahassee campus; and the Ringling Museum of Art complex and FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training in Sarasota.

Provost McRorie previously served as Chair of the Department of Art and Design at Purdue University, and as National Co-Chair of the Getty/Annenberg project “Transforming Education through the Arts.” She served as Senior Editor of Studies in Art Education, the major journal in the field. Other service to the field includes the boards of the International Council of Fine Arts Deans and National Council of Arts Administrators, including two terms as President.

Her honors and recognitions include the Barkan Award for Outstanding Publication in Art; the Mary Rouse Award for Outstanding Art Educator, Indiana; Florida Higher Education Art Educator of the Year Award; and a FSU Teaching Award.

Provost McRorie has served NASAD as member of the Board of Directors and as member of the Commission on Accreditation. She holds a Ph.D. in Art Education from the University of Kansas, and is trained as a painter and printmaker.
