Nan Goggin

Nan Goggin is Professor of Graphic Design in the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). As an artist and designer, many of her collaborative projects have initiated new ways of reading and understanding visual culture and literacy, linking fine art and new technology. She is an award-winning graphic designer with multiple book and poster designs in national and international publications as well as a recognized pioneer in electronic art. Professor Goggin co-founded the New Media program; is a founding editor of the literary/visual culture magazine Ninth Letter; and a collaborator on such projects as “Writing with Video,” and Engineering’s “iFoundry.” She was designated as a UIUC University Scholar, Center for Advanced Study Fellow, iFoundry Fellow, Associate Provost Fellow, and has served as the Head of Landscape Architecture.

Professor Goggin holds a Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from Western Michigan University.
