Gregory M. Elliot serves as Chair of the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Texas at San Antonio. From 2002 to 2008, he served as Chair of the Department of Art at the University of Texas at El Paso. Other previous appointments include 14 years on the faculty at Louisiana State University (LSU), and as a member of the faculty at Brookhaven College in Dallas, Texas. Professor Elliott was the first artist-in-residence for the Ysleta Independent School District in El Paso, Texas, and was part of the faculty at the El Paso Community College, teaching sculpture, ceramics, drawing, and design.
Professor Elliott has been making and exhibiting sculpture for over 30 years.
Professor Elliott was first elected to the Commission on Accreditation in 2019.
Professor Elliott holds a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture degree from Southern Methodist University; a Master of Arts in Studio Art degree from Stephen F. Austin State University; and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art degree from Stephen F. Austin State University with concentrations in Commercial Art, Printmaking, and Ceramics.
