Greg Watts

Greg Watts is Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Cleveland Institute of Art. Prior to his current appointment, he served as Professor in the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas and Chair of the Art department at Metropolitan State University, Denver, where he also served as Executive Director for the Center for Visual Art, Metropolitan State’s off-campus art center. As well, he served as Associate Professor and coordinator of photography and digital arts, and as president of the university’s Council of Chairs. At Florida State University, he taught in the School of Visual Arts and Dance and served as a program director of the Oglesby Union Arts Center.

Professor Watts’s career accomplishments include a variety of academic positions and creative ventures. He was co-director of the Nighthawks Art Gallery in Denver and worked as a film cameraman in Africa. His artwork has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the country, and he has worked as a consultant and legal expert in the fields of photography and photographic evaluation.

Professor Watts was elected to the Commission on Accreditation in 2015, and as Chair in 2017.

A native of Cambridge, England, Professor Watts received an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Denver, a Master of Fine Arts degree in Fine Art (Photography) from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Printmaking) from Kingston University in London. He also attended the Management Development Program at Harvard University.
