Mary Colleen Heil has been President of Pennsylvania College of Art and Design (PCAD) since 1993. She has extensive experience in art college administration and has held positions as Vice President at Moore College of Art and Design, Associate Dean at the Corcoran College of Art, and Associate Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at Pratt Institute.
President Heil’s leadership and expertise in strategic planning enabled PCAD to develop from an institution offering a 3-year diploma program to a 4-year degree-granting accredited college. She has served on the boards of a number of arts and institutional organizations including the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences, where she served as Chair of the Academic Affairs committee.
President Heil has served as an NASAD visiting evaluator since 2001. She has served NASAD as Chair of the Committee on Ethics and as Chair of the Committee on Nominations.
President Heil has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, and attended the Seminar for Experienced Presidents at Harvard University Graduate School of Education in 2010.
