Denise Mullen has been the President of Oregon College of Art and Craft since August 2010. She has an extensive background as a leader in higher education, including prior positions as Provost and Vice President, Research and Academic Affairs at the Alberta College of Art and Design; Dean at Purchase College; and Vice Dean of the School of Art and Design at the Corcoran College of Art and Design.
President Mullen is on the Board of the College Art Association, past Board member of the National Council of Arts Administrators, a member of ArtTable, and a past member of the District of Columbia Commission on the Arts. She is also an avid art collector and practicing artist represented by Joshua Heller Rare Books, Incorporated in Washington, DC. Her work is included in major collections including Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Celanese Corporation, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Schering Plough Corporation among others. Exhibitions include Basso da Fortezza in Florence, Italy; the Biblioteque Historique de la Ville de Paris; and the Center for Book Arts, New York. President Mullen received a Master of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute in New York, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art from Sweet Briar College in Virginia.
President Mullen served as Vice President from 2011 to 2014 and President from 2014 to 2017. She previously served the Association as member of the Commission on Accreditation and member of the Board of Directors.
