Public Notice: Comprehensive Review of Non-Degree-Granting Standards

September 1, 2017

In August 2015, NASAD began a multi-year review of its standards and guidelines. The first phase of the review focused on the standards of graduate studies in art and design. The second phase focused on the standards for undergraduate studies in art and design. This phase will focus on the standards for non-degree-granting studies in art and design.

The comment period for non-degree-granting standards extends from September 1 to November 15, 2017. We invite all representatives of member institutions, constituencies, art/design professionals, deans, accreditors, students, interested parties, and the general public to engage in this review. The comments received in the comment period will influence any proposals for changes to the standards.

A hearing on the non-degree-granting standards will be held on Friday, October 13 from 4:15 – 5:15 p.m. at the NASAD 2017 Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. No action to revise the non-degree-granting standards will be taken at the 2017 Annual Meeting.
