2009 Annual Meeting Information

National Association of Schools of Art and Design
SIXTY-FIFTH ANNUAL MEETING
October 15 - 17, 2009

NASAD is pleased to present a detailed guide to its 65th Annual Meeting.

Registration will open at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14. The general meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, and will adjourn at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17.

A focus of the 2009 Annual Meeting will be on the basic conceptual relationship between advocacy and economic issues and decisions in higher education. Two general sessions will explore this topic from multiple perspectives.

The meeting will also feature a time for roundtable discussion groups. These will provide opportunities to pose questions about topics of significance at institutions, and to gain insights about them from colleagues. The topics of Economics and Advocacy will be discussed, as well as any other subjects introduced by attendees.

Details of the traditional Pre-Meeting Workshop are provided below, followed by a complete list of Annual Meeting sessions.

PRE-MEETING WORKSHOP
New and Aspiring Art and Design Administrators in Higher Education. NASAD will sponsor a special day-and-a-half workshop for new and aspiring art and design administrators. Detailed information may be found on the Pre-Meeting Workshop page.

Attendance for the pre-meeting workshop is limited to 30 participants. Please note that attendance requires pre-registration and payment of a separate fee of $100. Due to the workshop’s schedule, members of the Commission on Accreditation, Board of Directors, or participants in one of the workshops for evaluators will not be able to attend. Wednesday, October 14, 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., and Thursday, October 15, 9:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

ANNUAL MEETING SESSIONS
A complete list of 2009 Annual Meeting sessions is provided in the section titled "Sessions -- Information and Professional Development." 

Although unlikely, NASAD reserves the right to change meeting content without prior notice.

Representatives of non-member institutions are welcome at the meeting.

NASAD is holding its day-and-a-half Pre-Meeting Workshop for New and Aspiring Art and Design Administrators in Higher Education on Wednesday, October 14, 2:00 p.m. – 5:15 p.m., and Thursday, October 15, 8:30 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.
