Mary Colleen Heil

Mary Colleen Heil is the President of Pennsylvania College of Art and Design where she led its development from a 3-year diploma school to a 4-year college accredited by Middle States and National Association of Schools of Art and Design with BFA programs in fine art, graphic design, illustration and photography. Under her leadership the facilities expanded from 35,000 sf to 114,000 sf and its net assets increased from $62,680 in 1993 to over $10,000,000 in 2012. Prior to her appointment at PCAD in 1993, she served in senior administrative positions at Moore College of Art and Design, Corcoran College of Art and Design, and Pratt Institute.
She has been active with NASAD and has served as a visiting evaluator and team chair since 2001. She is a member of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP) where she has served as Chair of the Member Services Committee and is on the board of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD) where she is the Program Chair. She has served on many local boards and is currently Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee of the board of The Lancaster General College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She serves on the Audit and Compliance Committee of Lancaster General Health.
President Heil received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from Moore College of Art. She has a Certificate in Transformation for Management of Quality and Productivity with Dr. W. Edwards Deming (1993) and participated in the 2010 Harvard University Graduate School of Education Seminar for Experienced Presidents.
